Building Community. Supporting Farmers. Championing Local.
July 27th Schedule
Community Tent: Bring your kids by Queen Anne Chamber of Commerce's “Holidays in July” to enjoy some holiday fun and learn about how you can get involved with lighting up Upper Queen Anne Avenue this winter.
Kids' Tent: Roots to Shoots Program begins; sponsored by Re:Design Builders. This week, we have an extra-special event planned! Junior Sous will be hosting a kids' cooking class and demo at the Kids' Tent! With all the delicious fruit at the market right now, they'll be making some jams and offering a jam making and tasting class. You don't want to miss this!
QA Greenways Play Street: Come join the second annual QA Play Street, on 1st Avenue W. It's sure to be a fun, family-friendly time. As reported in Queen Anne News, scooters, pedal cars, blocks, chalk, hula hoops, foosball, and other equipment will be provided from the Queen Anne Community Center, and staffers may provide demonstration of class activities.
Table and yard games will also return this year, courtesy of Scott Cooper of Blue Highway Games, while several new activities have been added to the fray.
Christine Woten, children’s librarian at the Queen Anne branch of the Seattle Public Library, will have arts and crafts for children, and for older kids seeking a more physical challenge, Don Cheyette of Seattle Adventure Sports will be on hand with his mobile climbing wall.
Liz McQuiston of Once Upon a Time will be giving away balloons, and will have other surprises in store.
A yoga session led by Corey Lynn Atencio is set for 4:30 p.m.
Event Tent: Located at Chihuly Garden and Glass in the heart of Seattle Center, Collections Café offers artistically inspired dishes with ingredients sourced from artisans who call the great Pacific Northwest home. Colorful platings, playful flavors and a whimsical setting amid Dale Chihuly’s eclectic collections create the perfect setting for brunch, lunch, or an afternoon bite. Come see them at the Event Tent this week and try their delicious raspberry, white chocolate panna cotta.
Market Music: In partnership with the play street festivities, we are thrilled to welcome Snake Suspenderz. A quartet featuring vocals, ukulele, trombone, guitar, tuba and drums, Snake Suspenderz has their own unique style they like to call Cartoon Jazz.
Roots to Shoots wraps up.
We'll have our 2017 shirts, bags, posters, and NEW-this-year picnic blankets for sale at the Information Tent sponsored by Seattle Face & Skin starting at 3:00pm.
